During a span of approximately six months, I had the privilege of assisting head wedding planner Jessica Scott at luxury weddings for her clients. The weddings took place all over the Dallas-Fort Worth metro, providing me with a wealth of skills and invaluable experiences.

On wedding days, I assisted with preparation and meticulously double-checked table layouts, and made adjustments accordingly. I engaged in client interaction to ensure the bride and groom were on schedule and got to be there for the picture-perfect moments like photoshoots, dress changes, and lining up the bridal party. I excelled in helping manage the bridal party and guests, answering their questions, and providing accurate information. Additionally, I have learned the importance of vendor relationships and the lengths Jessica has gone to cultivate connections and maintain open communication lines. Establishing vendor relations is a pivotal role in ensuring a successful event.

Event planning taught me the indispensable skill of quick and efficient thinking. Even with thorough planning, hiccups occurred and had to be solved promptly for a seamless event. A notable instance involved finalizing an outdoor cocktail room setup, only to be swiftly moved indoors due to a sudden weather change. The result was flipped tables, broken drinks, bouquets on the grass, and broken signage minutes before the event. I took on a more authoritative role in directing the new setup and orchestrating smooth reorganization indoors while Jessica managed the wedding ceremony. This experience reinforced the importance of adaptability and creative problem-solving.

My keen eye for detail and robust organizational skills continues to fuel my interest in event planning and management areas. Two things I cannot live without are my planner and calendar, which I learned from Jessica are essential tools to thrive in the dynamic world of event planning.
